Read Congress

To extend the impact of Congress nationwide, IBBY Canada is partnering with public libraries across Canada to present curated picture book exhibitions and encourage book lovers of all ages to ReadCongress!

Participating libraries are invited to share reading lists and adapt and display content from three of the major Congress exhibitions:

1. 25 Years of Governor General’s Literary Award Winners for Children’s Literature (Text and Illustration), 2000-2025

A celebration of excellence! This list allows readers to rediscover the winners, in English and French, of one of Canada’s most prestigious literary awards.

2. From Sea to Sea to Sea: Celebrating Indigenous Picture Books

Enjoy all titles in this thoughtfully curated collection that spotlights the beauty and diversity of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit voices.

3. Reading with Pride: Stories for Everyone

This remarkable exhibition of more than 350 2SLGBTQI+ children’s picture books collected by Senator Kristopher Wells includes 100 English and French books published in Canada.
